Vadodara: Even a year after it restarted science stream at M K Amin Padra College, M S University has failed to provide basic amenities to students of Bachelor’s of Science (BSc) course.
With monsoon at its peak, students admitted at M K Amin Padra College are forced to reach their college through waterlogged muddy kutcha unpaved roads. And when they sit inside their classrooms, the roofs start leaking from above.

A group of over 40 students admitted in first year BSc at Padra college on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to MSU officials seeking transfer from Padra college to Faculty of Science.

The complaint that the students have submitted states that in absence of any laboratory facility at Padra college, they have to travel to Vadodara to complete their laboratory sessions.

“Last year, we were given an assurance that the laboratory facility will be started from the new academic year. But this has not been done,” the complaint states.

“We also don’t have any options to satisfy our hunger in absence of any canteen facility inside nor outside the college premises,” the complaint further states.

The students have stated that while professors are not regularly conducting the classes, the foundation courses have not been started so far. Similarly, the students are yet to receive smart ID cards while books are also not available in the library.

“Since, transport facilities from Vadodara to Padra are also not available, we are finding it difficult to continue our studies,” the memorandum states.
