Tirupur: A 49-year-old man and his 24-year-old son were arrested for murdering a labourer following a petty quarrel in Palladam on Tuesday. They were identified as Gunasekaran and his son Praveen,
They had killed T Krishnamurthi of Selvalakshmi Nagar in Sedapalayam, a labourer. “On Sunday, Krishnamurthi had asked Gunasekaran for a matchbox. When Gunasekaran said he did not have one, Krishnamurthi abused him. Later, Krishnamurthi threw stones at Gunasekaran’s house at night when the family was sleeping. When the stone pelting resulted in breaking of glass windows, Gunasekaran and Praveen confronted Krishnamurthi. Their quarrel soon turned violent and Krishnamurthi suffered injuries on his head,” a police officer said.
