Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will present the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi fellowship and the 47th State awards here on July 26.
It is the first time the award function is being held in the State capital. At a press conference here on Tuesday, Akademi chairman Nemom Pushparaj and secretary Ponnyam Chandran said State award winner Indrans would be the chief guest.
Minister for Culture A.K. Balan would preside over the function. The award would comprise a sculpture and a citation, Mr. Pushparaj said. Ahead of the award presentation, a Mizhavu panchari melam and a dance-cum-painting programme would be held.
The Akademi fellowship will be presented to painter G. Rajendran, a Thiruvananthapuram native.
