Seven men involved in dacoity at Khadar’s Metro construction site arrested

Delhi Police East District, on Monday claimed to have worked out a case of dacoity that had taken place at a Delhi Metro construction site in Yamuna Khadar by arresting all the seven accused who executed the crime by allegedly holding two security guards hostages. Police have recovered all the robbed items.

Deputy Commissioner of  Police (DCP) East district, Pankaj Kumar Singh stated that one accused identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmed (35), was arrested from the crime scene itself. After his interrogation and subsequent raids by a team under the supervision of Shobhit Saksena, Assistant Commissioner of  Police, Mayur Vihar,  six accused namely Imran (26), Farman (22), Kamal Kumar Koli (26), Vickey (25), Murari Lal (22) and Nirdosh (22), were arrested. 

Further investigation revealed that the accused operated a gang and committed robberies, thefts and dacoities along the Delhi Metro Corridors which were under construction. Their mastermind Kamal would identify places where expensive equipment or construction material was found lying, DCP said.

On July 16, a PCR call regarding robbery of copper wires at Yamuna Khadar opposite Akshardham Temple was received. Initial investigation revealed that four persons had come to the tracks and held one Mukesh Jha, a private security guard and security guard Manoj Kumar as hostage. Six of the seven accused had managed to flee along with the loot.
