Car falls in dam, six killed near Kolar

Six youths were killed in a road accident on Sunday night, after their speeding car fell in a stop dam near Kolar Dam. After celebrating birthday of one of the youths late in the night on Sunday, they were returning to the state capital.

Sehore SP Rajesh Chandel said that the six were on their way back to Bhopal when their car fell at water inlet for water filter plant probably late in the night and failed to control vehicle. The spot which is stop dam dam is under Bilkishganj police station.

It was a left turn and the deceased failed to turn and fell straight into the canal which was around 20-25 feet wide and deep. The six have gone to celebrate birthday of Akash Gupta. Five of the deceased are residents of Bhopal. One of the deceased hails from Rewa and used to work at Sujalpur and came to Bhopal to attend the party, he added. SP Chandel claimed that as the car was small and was carrying around six persons which were with good built and once the car fell in the water the deceased failed to open the gate due to water pressure and died of drowning. The deceased was identified as Akash Gupta (24) of Anand Nagar, Pankaj Sahu (27) of Transport Nagar, Ranjeet Sahu (28) of Anand Nagar, Gaurav Sahu(24) , Abhijeet Rathod(28) of Katara Hills  and Rajneesh Patel of Rewa.

The bodies have been sent for post mortem in Sehore and case under section 174 of the CrPC has been registered. Police found that the deceased were good friends and used to celebrate everything together.
