BARIPADA:  Three persons were arrested on Sunday for allegedly molesting women devotees during pulling of Devi Subhadra’s chariot here. They are Chandan Behera, Nabakishore Behera and Devraj Das, all in their mid-20s, of Chapat Asita village in the district. They were produced in the SDJM Court, which remanded them in judicial custody.

A video showing some youths molesting women devotees during the Rath Yatra had gone viral, exposing laxity on the part of security personnel. Seeing the video, a local youth involved in the crime was identified and detained by police. He, however, was released when the victims refused to file a police complaint. On Sunday night, police arrested the youth again along with the other accused, police said.
