Sonepur KV to get new campus

The construction of a new campus of the Kendriya Vidyalaya would start here soon. Members of the union of guardians like Prakash Baboo and Debendra Sahu who met Human Resources Development Minister and Director of Kendriya Vidyalayas Prakash Javadekar, in the presence of Balangir MP Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, have been assured of it.

Singh Deo assured them to provide the first-phase grant within eight to 10 days. Members also discussed about the matter of construction of a new campus of the KV with the Additional Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalayas.

As per sources, the Kendriya Vidyalaya has been functioning in Sonepur since 2009-10. However, due to the lack of land, its expansion has not been possible.

The Plus II stream and a playground of the school have not opened though they have been sanctioned.The Subarnapur district administration has given 10 acres of land for construction of a new campus of the school. The union of the guardians thanked Minister Javedkar, MP Singh Deo and Subarnapur Collector Dasirathi Satpathy for the move for a new campus.
