Hyundai Le Fil Rouge Concept Makes NA Debut At Concours d’Elegance of America

Hyundai will display the Le Fil Rouge Concept at the 40th Annual Concours d’Elegance of America in Plymouth, Michigan, marking the show car’s North American debut.

The impressive concept introduces us to Hyundai’s upcoming ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language, which will adorn all future models coming from the Korean manufacturer.

First shown at the last Geneva Motor Show, the Le Fill Rouge Concept is a reinterpretation of Hyundai’s 1974 Coupe Concept and the starting point apparently for sexy Hyundais. We’re used to hear things like ‘golden-ratio proportions’ from companies like Aston Martin, but Hyundai? That’s just surprising to say the least.

The show car features a long wheelbase, large wheels and short overhangs while the front and rear pillars, as well as the roof, are seamlessly blended into the overarching shape of the car, giving out the impression that it was drawn with a single line.

The interior features a wrap-around architecture, separating the driver from the passengers. Hyundai’s design team took inspiration from aircraft ventilation, giving the Le Fil Rouge a two-way ventilation system. Materials include re-vitailized wood and high-tech fabrics in order to given the cabin a more natural beauty while there’s a floating panoramic display with haptic tech in front of the driver.

The striking Hyundai Le Fil Rouge concept will make its appearance at the Concours d’Elegance of America on July 27-29.
