Paul Pogba: Manchester United to Juventus
The Daily Express reports that Juventus want to bring Paul Pogba back to Italy from Manchester United.
Pogba played at the Serie A giants from 2012 until 2016 before rejoining United in a then-world-record deal worth £89.3m. Citing information from Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the Express says that Juve plan to sell Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic to fund a bid for Pogba.
Pjanic has been linked with Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester City in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, United boss Jose Mourinho has challenged French star Pogba to replicate his World Cup form at Old Trafford. Mourinho told ESPN that the World Cup was perfectly suited to Pogba’s game and has urged the 25-year-old to now “give his best” in a United shirt.
“I don’t think it’s about us getting the best out of him, it’s about him giving the best he has to give,” said the United boss. “I think the World Cup is the perfect habitat for a player like him to give [their] best. Why? Because it’s closed for a month, where he can only think about football.”
Mourinho wants two more signings
In the same interview with ESPN Jose Mourinho has revealed that he wants to bring two more players to Old Trafford ahead of the 9 August transfer deadline. After signing Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant this summer, Mourinho said: “One thing is what I would like. Another thing is what is going to happen. I would get two more players.” One of those players could be England defender Harry Maguire. However, his club Leicester City are “determined to fight off United’s interest”, The Daily Telegraph reports.
Martial can leave - for the right fee
Jose Mourinho says he would consider selling Anthony Martial if the bid is high enough. The French forward reportedly wants to leave Old Trafford and Mourinho would prefer to sell him to a club outside of the Premier League. Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are all interested. (The Guardian)
Willian: Chelsea to Barcelona
