Police hunt for Marko Krivosic over 'callous' shooting of George Nassiff
Police are attempting to locate Liverpool man Marko Krivosic following the fatal shooting of George Nassiff in a targeted attack in Sydney's west on Sunday night.
Mr Nassiff, 46, opened the door to an apartment in Warwick Farm to two unknown men just after 5pm, who entered the home and shot him.
He was taken by ambulance to Liverpool hospital, where he later died.
The gunman and his accomplice remain at large, but were captured on the apartment building's CCTV.
"He was the best man, he's got the biggest heart. I can't believe that they've done this," his partner, Taylah, told reporters after the shooting.
Police established a crime scene and undertook forensic testing in the days following the shooting, allowing investigators to seize "a number of items" they believe belong to the shooter and his accomplice.
“A thorough examination of the crime scene has been completed which included an extensive search of the area resulting in the seizure of a number of items we believe belong to the offenders. Those items are currently the subject of further forensic analysis,” Liverpool Area Commander Detective Acting Superintendent Paul Albury said.
“We have also interviewed a number of people who have provided detailed statements regarding the incident."
On Tuesday, police appealed for public assistance to track down Mr Krivosic, who they say believe can assist with the investigation.
"We are encouraging him to come forward," Detective Superintendent Albury said, calling the shooting "callous" and "brutal".
Police have visited a number of addresses that Mr Krivosic is known to frequent, but have been unable to track him down so far.
"Marko Krivosic has lived in the Liverpool area for a number of years and we believe he may still be in the area," he said.
Mr Krivosic is described as 27 years old, 170-175cm tall, with an olive complexion and a solid build.
Investigators believe that Mr Krivosic is aware they are looking to speak to him, but on Tuesday refused to disclose the nature of the relationship between Mr Nassiff and Mr Krivosic.
"Police are resolute to investigate this matter," Det Supt Albury said.
"His family are enormously distressed."
