Wistron to invest Rs 3,000 cr to set up iPhone unit in K'taka

Taiwan's Technologies is investing Rs 3,000 crore in Narasapuraindustrial area of district to set up manufacturing unit, the government today said.

"An expert team of M/s Technologies called on H D Kumaraswamy and held discussions in this regard," the Chief Minister's office said in a statement.

Kumaraswamy welcomed the idea of this huge investment in the state and asked the company to submit a proposal for grant of land which is required for expansion, it said.

He also suggested to the company to set up a mobile repair and in the area as technicians in these field are in demand.

manufacturing unit, which is being established in about 43 acres in Narasapura is going to be the biggest project of its type in the country, the statement quoting Gururaj, who is the of the company in India, said.

It will generate 10,500 jobs to the local populace and the company intends to expand the unit, he added.
