HYDERABAD: A woman employee of a Hyderabad-based Information Technology company is the highest individual salaried taxpayer in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Earning a salary of 30 crore per annum, she paid 9 crore (30%) as
income tax for the 2017-18 fiscal.
Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax of AP and Telangana SP Choudhury said, "The woman employee is the top salaried taxpayer in Hyderabad region, but she may not figure among the top salaried taxpayers at the national level as there would be many in other parts of the country."
Tirupati-based
Amara Raja Batteries, owned by TDP MP Galla Jayadev and his father Galla Ramachandra Naidu, is the top income tax payer in Vijayawada Region. "For the past two years,
Amara Raja has been the topmost income tax payer in Andhra. We have invited Galla Ramachandra Naidu as a guest of honour for the I-T day celebrations on Friday," said Choudhury.
Public sector unit National Mineral Development Corporation (
NMDC) is the
top tax payer in AP and TS followed by
Andhra Bank. The AP Grameena Bank is also one of the top I-T payers in Andhra.
By July 31(extended up to August 5) last year at least 7.41 lakh income tax returns were filed in both Telugu States.
