LUCKNOW: Two more positive cases of
dengue were reported from the city on Monday taking the tally in city to 38 since
January. Also, the Lucknow University (LU) and its Kailash girls’ hostel premises were served a notice by the health department for creating conditions conducive for the breeding of mosquitoes.
A 45-year-old man from Doctor Kheda in Dubagga and 38-year-old from Hewitt road were the recent victims of the female Aedes Anopheles mosquito that causes dengue. However, the condition of the two patients is said to be stable and undergoing medication at homes.
“We have contacted both the patients and rapid response teams will visit their homes on Tuesday,” said incharge of control unit vector-borne diseases Dr KP Tripathi.
The department also continued spraying larvicide in different parts of the city. Lucknow University and Kailash girls’ hostel premises were served a notice by the department to get rid of its larvae breeding conditions in 24 hours. This move came after the residence of LU’s vice chancellor and the university guest house were also served the same notice last year in July for having mosquitoes and their larvae.
