PUNE: At least three more international flights are likely to take off from the city airport by October, once the additional parking bays are in place.
In the offing is a flight to Singapore. Also, the authorities of flydubai, a low-cost airline headquartered at the terminal-2 of Dubai International Airport, have evinced interest in operating flights from Pune.

“India is a very important market for flydubai. We continuously look at opportunities to expand our operations in the market and better serve passengers between the two countries. Any discussion regarding bilateral agreements are done at the government level," Sudhir Sreedharan, vice-president, commercial operations, flydubai, said in an email response.

The Pune airport authorities have confirmed that the airport is expected to have connectivity with Mali. “IndiGo is likely to start a flight to Gao International Airport in Mali. Regarding flydubai, the AAI doesn’t have information until now,” an official told TOI.

While Jet Airways have neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of a flight from Pune to Singapore, sources claimed that Vistara was eyeing the same destination from the city. The airline this month confirmed the order of 13 Airbus A-320 Neo and 6 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
