HISAR: Three masked men looted Rs 8.95 lakh from a
State Bank of India ATM in Sector 16,
Hisar, after assaulting and tying the security guard to a chair on early Saturday morning. The ATM is located about 1.5km from the
civil lines police station.
The injured security guard Satbir (55), a resident of Dayanand Colony, has been admitted to Agroha medical college for treatment.
Civil lines station house officer (SHO) Sandeep Kumar said a case under Sections 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) and 358 (assault or criminal force on grave provocation) of the IPC has been registered against three unidentified people.
According to the preliminary information, three masked people came to the ATM kiosk at around 3:38 am on Saturday. They first broke the CCTV camera and then assaulted the guard and tied him to a chair. Later, they opened the ATM machine with the help of tools and took the money valued at Rs 8,95,200 from it.
Police reached the spot after getting the information about the crime on Saturday morning and are investigating the matter.
