Chhattisgarh: Bridge washed away in heavy rains, people stranded on both sides

A bridge in Chhattisgarh's Surajpur was washed away by the strong current of the river flowing underneath it. The flow of the river has increased due to the incessant rainfall in the area over the past few days. As the bridge was the main link between Bishrampur and Bhatgaon, many people found themselves stranded on both sides of the bridge. Heavy rainfall has been recorded in Northern and Central parts of the country over the past few days as the monsoon has picked up.
