Ludhiana: With the arrest of four criminals on Saturday, the Focal Point police claimed to have solved 18 cases of snatching. The police have recovered seven mobile phones and two motorcycles from their possession.
In the first case, the police arrested Jaswinder Singh of Mohalla Gobindgarh and Harpreet Singh of Fateh Singh Nagar with five mobile phones and one motorcycle.
Inspector Amandeep Brar, SHO, Focal Point police station, said the police arrested the accused following a tip-off. The accused were taking rounds in the area while planning to commit snatching. When frisked, the police found five mobile phones from their possession. The accused confessed that they have snatched mobile phones from commuters. The accused admitted their involvement in 10 such cases.
In another case, police arrested Savinder Kumar and Toni Kumar, residents of Bhagat Singh Colony, Sherpur, with 2 mobile phones that they had snatched from commuters. The accused confessed to their involvement in 8 such cases.
