CHHAPRA: Saran police have solved the dacoity committed in broad daylight at Sonepur on Friday.
The miscreants, who barged into the residence of principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sonepur, Piyush Kumar and looted cash and ornaments at gun-point, were arrested on Sunday. The principal was not at home when the incident happened.
Taking it as a challenge, the SP formed an SIT, which arrested five persons, who confessed their involvement in the crime. Saran SP Har Kishore Rai said, “The main conspirator was the principal’s driver Rajiv Kumar, who has been taken into custody. Rajiv is a resident of Barbatta under Sonepur police station. Others involved in the dacoity have been identified as Akash Kumar of Manpur under Sonepur police station, Alok Kumar of Chandralaya under Hajipur PS, Shanu Kumar of Barbatta and Dahaur also from Manpur.”
Police have also recovered looted Rs 4.5 lakh new currency notes from Akash’s house along with seven pieces of golden chain, eight gold rings, six ‘kangan’, two lockets of ‘Mangal Sutra’, four earrings, three ‘kanausi’ along with Rs 1.5 lakh old currency notes. One bike and a cellphone have also been recovered from the house of Shanu, one country-made pistol and two live cartridges from Dahaur and one sim with mobile from Rajiv’s house. TNN
