Govt employees threaten strike from Saturday to press for demands

Irked by Government’s apathy on their demands, the employee Unions of the State Government are planning to go on a strike. The agitated  employees said that they might go for the strike on Saturday after the meeting of different employee associations is held. The convener of the joint federation of all State Government associations, Ravi Pachori said that the CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had assured them on May 24 that their issues would be resolved within 45 days. He, further, said that the CM had set up a committee headed by additional chief secretary Radha Raturi. “ But the forum has not been invited as yet for talks,” he said.

The employees say that they should get the benefit of three Assured Career Progression (ACP) which is mentioned in the manual of department of personnel.

The Joint Forum demands that the teachers on Grade Pay Rs 4600 should be provided a basic salary structure of Rs 17140. The ACP should be given with promotion at  the end of 10, 16, 26 years of service. Besides, for  the power corporation workers, the same benefit should be given on the completion of 9, 14 and 19 years of service. The employees also want they should be given benefit of all allowances as per the provision of VII pay commission.

The Joint Forum is of the view that all female employees who have crossed the age of 50 and male workers who are more than 52 years of age should be exempted from the provision of Transfer Act. They  further insist that the Indu Kumar Pandey wage committee should be dissolved.
