UP: Bareilly NGO head announces reward to anybody who stones and tonsures two Triple-Talaq victims 

Moin Siddique Noori, an NGO head in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly, stirred a controversy by allegedly announcing a reward to anybody who stones and shaves the heads of the two triple-talaq victims, Nida Khan and Farhat Naqvi.

Nida Khan hit the headlines when she took to the court after being divorced by her husband through instant Triple-Talaq. She was also forced to marry her father-in-law and brother-in-law, apart from consummating the marriage with them under the Islamic practice of 'Nikah Halala'. However,  the court declared her divorce invalid and had ordered a probe into the allegations of domestic violence.

She came into the spotlight again on June 16 when a fatwa was issued against her by Dargah Aala Hazrat clerics, ordering a social boycott of the former.

The Fatwa reportedly said, "No medicines will be provided if she falls ill. If she dies, no one is allowed to offer 'namaz' on her 'janaja' (funeral procession). She cannot be buried in kabristan (graveyard) after her death."

Farhat Naqvi, the sister of Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, was divorced by her husband 11 years ago for giving birth to a girl child.

In an attempt to prevent other Muslim women from falling prey to the practice of Triple-Talaq, she formed an NGO ‘Mera Haq’ in 2014 to fight for justice to the divorce victims, according to Hindustan Times.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to meet both Khan and Naqvi during a rally at Shahjahanpur on Saturday. The two were formally invited by Rajesh Kumar Mishra, the BJP MLA from Bareilly, reported Hindustan Times.

Early last year, Bareilly NGO head had made a similar announcement which drew flak of many. He announced a reward for anybody who succeeds in decapitating Shia Waqf Board chairperson Waseem Rizvi and Canada-based scholar Tarek Fatah.
