PATNA: One passenger train will remain cancelled on Sunday while some others will be diverted due to girder launching exercise between Kulharia and Zamira located on the Patna-Mughalsarai section of Danapur division under the East Central Railway (ECR).

“The railways is building a rail-over-bridge (ROB) between the two stations and girder launching exercise will be carried out for almost five hours between 1.15pm and 6.15pm. Therefore, the Patna-Sasaram passenger train (53211) will be cancelled while the Bhabua-Patna Intercity will be short-terminated at Ara on Sunday,” ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar said on Saturday.

The railways has also diverted the Patna Suvidha Express (82355) on the Patna-Gaya-Mughalsarai route instead of the Patna-Ara-Mughalsarai route. The Brahmaputra Mail from Dibrugarh to New Delhi (14055) has also been diverted on the Patna-Gaya-Mughalsarai route instead of running on the Patna-Mughalsarai route of the Danapur division.

Besides, the railways has changed the departure timing of several passenger trains. “While the Bhagalpur-Lokmanya Tilak Express (12335) will originate at 1pm from Bhagalpur instead of 9am, the Danapur-Anand Vihar Jansadharan Express (13257) will leave Danapur at 6.30pm instead of 3.45pm. Similarly, the Danapur-Udhna Express (19064) will leave Danapur at 7.10pm instead of 4.40pm, while the Patna-Buxar MEMU (63263) will run at 8.15pm instead of 2.50pm from the Patna Junction,” the CPRO said.

A number of other trains like the Mughalsarai-Patna MEMU (63264), Raghunathpur-Patna MEMU (63220), Kolkata-Amritsar Akal Takht Express (12317), Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Express (12367) and Delhi-Dibrugarh Bhramputra Mail (14056) will run several hours behind schedule.

Reservation counters for passengers:

The railways has decided to make passenger reservation system (PRS) counters functional at Jhajha, Kiul and Zamania stations on Sunday to cater to the needs of passengers.

According to sources, the PRS counters will be open from 8am to 2pm at these stations.
