‘Author Speaks’ by Amarjeet today

The renowned author Amarjeet Kaur will be interacting with the Bhopalites. An event for the reading lovers of the city ‘Author Speaks’ will be organised in city on Saturday. The event will be organised by Club Literati at Bhojpur Club.

Amarjeet Kaur who is better known for her collection of short stories ‘Ahmadshah’ will be the speaker of Author Speaks session of club literati. It is to be noted that Amarjeet Kaur’ stories touch many aspects of life like gender bias, personal relationships, and socio cultural obligations.

Her writings also reflect the pain of partition and also its psychological impact as well. Her stories somehow depict longing for place and people which the refugees were forced to leave behind. Her style is undoubtedly a phenomenal one.

The world of her stories is multi-dimensional, reflecting her own experiences, observations of people and situations around her in a very simple yet effective style.

She has a natural flair of story telling which brings readers face to face with the realities of life.

Her stories have been published in reputed magazines like Hans, Navneet and Sarita.

Notably, Amarjeet Kaur was born in 1936 in a small twon of Mandi Bahauddin in West Punjab, which is now located in Pakistan. She pursued her studies with single minded devotion. At the age of 81, she is now busy in writing her first novel. Amarjeet lives in Bhopal with her family. Here on Saturday she will be interacting with the book lovers of the city. She will narrate her experiences and will also discuss about her stories she has written so far.
