Police seize 130 kg marijuana from GT road

Barhi police of Hazaribagh district seized 130 kg marijuana from a car on GT Road during the special checking drive on Thursday night. Police have arrested one person on the spot and another five persons became named accused. A car and mobile sets were also seized during the raid.

Sub Divisional Police Officer Manish Kumar and officer in charge of Barhi police station Jitendra Kumar Singh said in a joint conference on Friday that the Barhi police received a tip off that some persons were carrying marijuana in a car and going to some place.

A team was formed under in leadership of officer in charge of Barhi. The team started special search operation on toll plaza near Rasoi Dhamana village of Barhi sub division. As a car reached to toll plaza the driver of the car tried to run away from there. The team caught the accused with the help of villagers. Police saw that a lot of bundles were kept in the car. When the packets were opened, the police saw it was marijuana.

The SDPO Kumar said that the marijuana was brought to Ghaziabad of Utter Pradash. The main accused Sandeep Kumar is the resident of Piyaro of Bhojpur of Bihar. Police named accused including Rahul of Pilakhva of Gaziabad, Pramod Kumar, Pappu Banda, Nitin and Abhinav. They also seized a car and four mobile sets from arrested person. The SDPO said that the owner of the car is Nitin Kumar.
