New Dacia Duster: Does It Still Offer The Best Bang For Your Buck?

The new Duster wants to continue the successful career of the original by offering great value for money in a more modern package.

Despite the improvements and refinements, the second-generation Duster still remains one of the most affordable crossovers you can buy in Europe, carrying a very impressive £9,995 starting price in the United Kingdom.

As you would expect, the base version is not that well equipped, lacking features such as an audio system and air-conditioning. Oh, and it’s only available in white. Still, though, it’s plenty of car for the money. It’s also available with all-wheel drive, a feature that’s increasingly absent from most compact SUVs.

Available powertrains include a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol unit that produces 113hp (115PS), as well as a 113hp 1.5-liter diesel.

The interior may not win you with the quality of its materials, but that’s to be expected from a car of this price. However, the seats are redesigned to offer better comfort and support, while noise levels are reduced thanks to better sound insulation, improved sealants and slightly thicker front windows.

Does the new Dacia Duster still offer the same great value for money? Or should you pay a bit more for another competitor? Let’s see what Carwow has to say.
