KOCHI: The Kerala State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) at its sitting at the Aluva Government Guest House here on Friday  cross-examined Thrissur City Police Commissioner(CP) Yathish Chandra G H  as part of its probe into the brutal lathi-charge on anti-LPG Plant protesters  at Puthuvype in February 2017.

Chandra was cross-examined by the counsel for Puthuvype protesters. The procedure lasted nearly an hour. Chandra denied the police had unleashed brutal violence on the protesters after they grew restive.
The KSHRC will consider the Puthuvype incident again in August. However, Chandra informed the Commission he will be able to appear before it only at the sitting  scheduled for September.
