An Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police with Rachakonda Commissionerate has been placed under suspension by the government for misusing his official powers and threatening his colleagues.
The suspended officer, Y. Pulinder Reddy, was also allegedly involved in a land grabbing case under Raidurgam police station.
The order released by Principal Secretary (Home) Rajiv Trivedi said Reddy exhibited ‘gross misconduct’ by his actions, which caused irreparable damage to the image of the police among general public.
It further stated that the officer had always avoided duties assigned by a superior and was found inept at discharging duties.
“Reddy has directly conducted a press meet against his superior officers,” Mr Trivedi said in the order.
“During suspension period, he should not leave the headquarters without obtaining permission and further action will be taken by Director-General of Police,” Mr Trivedi added.
