A court here on Friday refused to grant anticipatory bail to the in-laws of flight attendant Anissia Batra who allegedly committed suicide in south Delhi’s Panchsheel Park on July 13.
It dismissed the anticipatory bail applications of Sushma Singhvi and R. S. Singhvi saying the charges against them are serious. Anissia’s husband is in judicial custody.
“I have gone through the documents placed on record by both the parties. The charges are serious in nature and the investigation is at a crucial stage...I am not inclined to grant any bail to the applicants/ accused at this stage... Hence, the bail applications are hereby dismissed,” said Additional Sessions Judge Neelam Singh.
Anissia allegedly messaged her husband and a few other friends that she was about to commit suicide. The police have lodged a case under Section 304B (dowry death) of the IPC.
