BJD-BJP ‘nexus’ now open: Niranjan

PCC president Niranjan Patnaik on Friday alleged that the BJD tactically boycotted the voting on the no-confidence motion against the Modi Government to maintain a safe position for itself by showing sympathy and support for the BJP.

“The BJP has failed grossly in fulfilling promises made before the general election, 2014. For this reason, Opposition parties had moved no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Modi. But the ruling BJD tactically boycotted the voting to keep a safe position for it,” alleged Patnaik.

He said the BJD’s action reflected its sympathy and support to the BJP even as the BJD is shedding crocodile tears for the sake of common people.

He said the BJD-BJP alliance, which was in power in the State from 2000 to 2009, is in effect intact till date.

“They might give statements against each other, but BJP leaders and Central Government officers coming from New Delhi praise Odisha Government on a high note,” he said.

The BJD and the BJP are playing with people’s sentiments, alleged Patnaik.
