A 75-year-old woman and her daughter met with a tragic end here on Saturday, when the driver of a lorry lost control and ran over them at Bhagyalatha crossroads in the Hayathnagar police station area. The victims were identified as Andela Mallamma (75), of Bandaravirala in Abdullapurmet mandal and her daughter Yerragolla Bharatamma (45) of Bhagyalatha here.
According to police, the accident occurred around 8 a.m. when the duo were trying to cross the road at Bhagyalatha crossroads, “In the meantime, the lorry driver lost control and crushed them to death,” said Hayathnagar sub-inspector B.Narsaiah.
The bodies were sent to Osmania General hospital morgue for autopsy and handed over to family members.
