VARANASI: In a major breakthrough the government railway police (GRP) personnel caught two persons with Rs 2 crore in cash without any supporting documents at Mughalsarai (Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn) station in Chandauli district on Friday. The arrested persons were handed over to IT personnel for further investigation.
According to reports, the GRP were conducting a checking drive at the station when they spotted two suspicious looking persons travelling in Howrah-New Delhi Duranto Express. The police recovered the amount from their luggage.

The GRP inspector Rajesh Kumar told TOI over phone that during interrogation they revealed that they are employees of a company and carrying the amount from Banka (Bihar) to New Delhi. They could not produce any document in support of the amount in their possession.

He said that the arrested persons were identified as Balbir Singh of Deoria district and Vikram Singh of Rajasthan. The income tax department was informed about the recovery. They are being interrogated by the IT personnel, and further action would be taken by them only, he added.
