Man with fake PMO ID caught while entering Sena Bhawan

An imposter identified as Amit Sharma and pretending to be a serving Lieutenant Colonel was caught by Defence Security Corps (DSC) while entering Sena Bhawan headquarters with a fake Prime Minister Office (PMO) Identification Card on Friday.

The guards got suspicious after the man in the olive green introduced himself and asked a few more questions. When he noticed uneasiness in the suspect, DSC guard immediately informed the Chief Security Officer (CSO). He was questioned by the senior security officers and he revealed his real identity .

Incidentally, during on the spot interrogation by DSC guards there, it has been learnt that before entering Sena Bhawan, Verma had entered the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) office with the same fake ID.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) New Delhi district Madhur Verma said they are being questioned. “It appears that the man caught in the uniform had bought the uniform and was trying to impress people by telling them that he can get any work done in Sena Bhawan.”

It is understood that the accused person used to cheat innocent unemployed youth for getting them job in the army.

One Sandeep Kumar, who was also with him, stated that he had given Rs 2.50 lakh to Sharma for a job in Indian Army”, the DCP said.

“The imposter is a resident of A-1/A-5, Shastri Nagar in neighbouring Ghaziabad. He, along with his wife Harjit Kaur  driver Sonu Singh and another person Sandeep, arrived in front of DRDO, Sena Bhawan at 5.00 pm”, he said.

“Four mobile phones , a forged card of PMO were recovered from imposters. First Information (FIR) is being registered under sections 419, 420 and 468 of the Indian Penal Code,” he said.
