Divya bags gold medal at Boxing Tournament

The boxing player Divya Pawar left no stone unturned to put up a brilliant performance at International Golden Glove Boxing Tournament held at Serbia. The player bagged a gold medal at the championship.

Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Department Yashodhara Raje Scindia met the champion at Gwalior on Thursday. On the success of the player on international sports platform Scindia expressed her deep contentment. She congratulated the player for the achievement and wished her luck for her future. She further said that the female players of the State are not far behind the male champions. Daughters of state are bringing laurel to State, country and Academy continuously by putting up impressive show at the championships.

They equally participate in the championships and glorify the name of the State at each championship. She also encouraged them to give same performance in other competitions as well and give their best at various competitions. Elaborating further, she said, “We are proud of our players.”

The Sports Minister appreciated the magnificent performance of the boxing glove player Divya Pawar in the Golden Glove Tournament and congratulated and applauded her for her success. Encouraging Divya Pawar, she said that after achieving medals with such a great performance, the name of the country is highlighted at international platform.

On this occasion, Roshan Lal, Chief Instructor of Madhya Pradesh Boxing Academy was also present. It is notable that in the International Golden Glove Tournament held in Serbia, Madhya Pradesh player Divya Pawar, representing the Indian team in the 54 kilogram weight category, defeated Serbia's player in the final match and won the gold medal in the International Golden Glove Tournament.

It is also notable that Boxing Academy's player Divya Pawar has won three gold one bronze in international competitions and two gold medals and one bronze medal in national competitions. Divya Pawar is trained under the guidance of Roshan Lal, Chief Instructor of Boxing Academy.
