Bajaj Auto on Friday reported 20.71 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 1,115.23 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2018.
It had posted a net profit of Rs 923.93 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
ETNow poll had predicted a net profit of Rs 1,249 crore for Bajaj Auto in Q1.
Revenue from operations increased to Rs 7,419.29 crore during the quarter under review against Rs 5,854.19 crore in the same period last year.
The company sold 12,26,641 units in June quarter this year against 8,88,434 units a year ago.
Shares of the company tanked over 4.50 per cent to Rs 2,971.90 immediately after the announcement of financial results.
