CCTV cameras to be installed in all police stations

The ADG of police (administration) Ram Singh Meena said that in pursuance of High Court orders, closed circuit television cameras will be installed in all police stations of the State soon. The CCTV cameras will be installed in 100 police stations in the first phase with the devices already being installed at police stations in Haldwani and Dehradun.

Talking to press here, he said that following court orders, police personnel are being made to work 8 hour shifts in offices and on traffic duty. The shift will then be implemented for other tasks too. Meena further informed that using the police welfare fund, facilities are being improved in police offices and stations/posts. As part of such steps, ladies toilets are being constructed and facilities like mess are being modernised in all  Police Stations across the State, various construction works costing about Rs  8 crore are being executed by the department.
