Noida: Having lost their
kin already,
families of six people whose
bodies were recovered from under the debris by NDRF personnel on Wednesday had to
wait for one more day for the
post-mortem. As the bodies started smelling, the family members who had come from as far as Mainpuri and Faizabad were upset that they would only be able to perform the last
rites after two days of the death of their near and dear ones.
Due to
procedural delays, the post-mortem of four bodies of the family of Shiv Kumar, a branch manager with a Delhi-based private company, which were recovered from under the debris by 10 pm on Wednesday, could only be conducted on Thursday morning. While the four bodies were brought to the mortuary by 2.30 am, the autopsy could not be conducted as their documents were not complete.
The autopsy of the bodies of the trio from Faizabad — painter brothers Shamshad and Naushad, and their friend Mohammed Movin — were also conducted on Thursday morning. Of the three, Shamshad’s body was recovered on Wednesday morning itself while Movin’s body was pulled out at 5.15 pm the same day. Though both the bodies had reached the district hospital by Wednesday night, their post-mortem was not conducted till Thursday evening as the
police waited for the body of Naushad which was brought out of the debris at 6.35 am on Thursday.
“We are
waiting for it so that all the three bodies can be sent for post-mortem together,” a police officer told TOI.
