The Supreme Court collegium on Friday unanimously reiterated the recommendation for elevation of Chief Justice K.M. Joseph to the apex court.
The government drew flak when Justice Joseph's name was recommended by the collegium in January.
Meanwhile, the collegium also recommended names of Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Vineet Saran and Madras High Court Chief Justice Indira Banerjee to the top court.
The collegium has suggested the name of Justice VK Tahilramani, senior most judge of Bombay High Court, to take Justice Banerjee's position.
It was further recommended to appoint acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, Justice Gita Mittal, as the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
The collegium also asked for appointment of Justice Aniruddha Bose - senior judge of Calcutta High Court - as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.
Senior most judge of Guwahati High Court and acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, Justice Hrishikesh Roy, was recommended as the Chief Justice of Kerala High Court.
Justice MR Shah, who is the senior most judge of Gujarat High Court, has also been recommended to be appointed as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court.
