MUMBAI: India Meteorological Department (IMD) said rain may pick up from July 22, after light rain for the past few days.
There were some intense showers in first two weeks of July, with average rain of 840mm, which is required for the whole of the month. The city also received over 60% of the annual average rainfall so far. But the intensity of rainfall reduced in the last few days, with IMD Colaba recording 1.6mm and IMD Santacruz 0.1mm from 8.30am- 8.30pm on Friday.

A few showers are likely on Saturday but isolated heavy showers are likely to return from Sunday. IMD scientist Ajay Kumar said a cyclonic circulation is likely to give the city rain. tnn
