Trial run in progress in three villages

The East Godavari district administration is planning to expand the door-to-door distribution of monthly rations to the entire district, provided the trial run that launched in three villages proved successful, according to Joint Collector A. Mallikarjuna.

Addressing a review meeting with the officials of the Civil Supplies Department here on Thursday, he said that the trial run was in progress at Uppalanka Mondi of Karapa mandal and Moolapalem and Ramajinagar in Tallarevu mandal, where the ration dealers weredelivering the monthly ration to the beneficiaries.

“The dealers are expected to be polite with the beneficiaries. They have to issue receipts to the commodities delivered to each and everyone,” he said, adding that there was an immediate need to include Teluguin the e-PoS voice message, as it would reach more beneficiaries.

‘Hand wash’

“There is an immediate need to create awareness among the beneficiaries on the use of biometrics. The beneficiaries must wash and dry their hands before appending the biometrics, and the dealers must make arrangements at the fair price shops for the hand wash,” he said, observing that to use the machine hands were supposed to be clean.
