GURUGRAM: Over 2,000 residents, including
RWAs and
mall association members, are planning a candlelight
vigil on Sunday to express solidarity with the administration after the raids on alleged sex rackets on MG Road.
Police had raided two more bars — at MGF Metropolitan Mall and Sahara Mall — and booked seven people for their alleged role in sex racket on July 4.
The drive is supported byseveral RWAs and commercial establishments, including Essel Towers, Beverly Park 1&2, DT City Centre Mall, Heritage City, Business Park, DLF 2, Sahara Grace and MGF Metropolitan Mall.
The march will be held at MGF Metropolitan Mall between 8.30pm-9.30pm on Sunday. Aakash Oberoi, president of MGF Mall Association, said, “There have been major changes after the police raids earlier this month. We want to show solidarity with the administration against prostitution, drugs and illegal solicitation in bars on MG Road and request that licences of club owners involved in such illegal activities be revoked.”
Mona Jaina, a member of Sahara Grace RWA, said, “Our residential society is behind Sahara Mall. For the past 3-4 years, it has been impossible for women and children to venture out of the society at night.”
