VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan was critical of Guntur MP Galla Jayadev’s speech on the No-Confidence Motion in the Lok Sabha stating that the TDP’s argument was ‘very weak and feeble’. The actor-turned-politician, who is criticised by his rivals for not taking on the BJP, also made sharp remarks against the saffron party alleging that it colluded with the TDP to compromise on the interests of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Pawan Kalyan, who has been laying low after his eye surgery, called the TDP’s and BJP’s actions in the Lok Sabha political theatrics. “The TDP’s argument was very weak and feeble in the parliament. I feel they lacked the necessary moral fibre to take Special Category Status (SCS) demand forward as they had opposed and diluted the fight for SCS by accepting the special package. At every stage, TDP had colluded and compromised with BJP leadership on SCS. Now what they are doing is an eyewash and political theatrics for public consumption,” he said in a series of tweets.

Pawan Kalyan further observed that the former allies -- BJP and TDP -- wasted an opportunity to win the people of Andhra Pradesh. “They could have truly stood by the people instead of their political theatrics, which is causing a great deal of public agony, besides wasting public’s valuable time and money,” he said.

The Jana Sena president alleged that the TDP, which compromised on the SCS for personal gains, was now playing the victim card to gain people’s trust. “A newly-formed party like the Jana Sena realised that the BJP would not accord SCS to AP two-and-a-half years ago. But, a leader, who claims to have decades of experience, failed to notice and felicitated the BJP leaders for the special package it. But, now, the TDP innocently claims that it has been cheated. How can the TDP leaders think that the people would trust them again?” he wondered.
