US tariffs unlikely to hit Indian exports, there is no immediate threat to India from trade wars, said Steel Secretary Aruna Sharma to ET Now's Parisha Tyagi in an exclusive conversation. India may impose a retaliatory tariff on US depending on the situation, hinted Steel Secy. Steel policy is based on enhanced domestic consumption, there are no evidence of diversion of steel supplies to India. If EU imposes import tariffs, it might be a concern for India. Steel sector is doing well, even the 3 stressed companies are doing well. Bidding in the steel industry shows there is a big demand.
