Digital security is biggest challenge today: Raman

Development of technology has brought computers and other modern gadgets with internet has thrown many challenges before the world. It has become part of life. ‘Digital’ and cyber security has become one of the biggest challenges today. Hackers are posing a greatest threat to digital world,” said Chief Minister Raman Singh.

Singh was addressing a two-day long national symposium, which commenced here at Indira Gandhi Agriculture University Auditorium on Thursday under aegis of Rashtriya Suraksha Jagran Manch.

Now, if common people want to enjoy the services better, there is urgent need to restrict the cyber crimes including invasion of individuals’ privacy. Central government had formulated the law for it but still fact is that awareness among the society is need of hour, he emphasised. On one side, it is an useful tool but on other side the rumours being spread through social media is creating sensation leading to mob related crime. Cyber crime is also on the increase, he stressed.

He further said the state government has prepared a road map of digitalisation of the state targeting the year 2025. Chhattisgarh is a state of future and it is fast treading forward from developing to a developed state. The digitalisation in different sectors of implementation of schemes has brought in transparency, ease and faster delivery.

Working on this direction, the state government is going to provide cell phones to 40 Lakh women in the state. “For better connectivity we are going to erect 1500 towers in the Naxal infested areas of the state. The work is expected to be completed within four months”, he told.

National Counsellor of Rashtriya Suraksha Jagran Manch Indresh Kumar in his address underlined the need of preserving human values with the advancement in technology.  The Chief Minister and other distinguished guests also unveiled a book ‘Manthan: Cyber Suraksha’.

Notable, Rashtriya Suraksha Manch has organized this symposium to create awareness among the common people about the cyber crime and how to counter it. Cyber experts, police and other experts are present in symposium are deliberating on how to prevent cyber crime and prevent common man from falling in the trap.
