18-year-old girl killed by father for tryst with lover on phone

An 18-year-old girl was battered to death by her father for having an affair against his wishes and engaging in long phone chats, in Hamirpur on Tuesday night.

After the gory truth sunk in, the assailant later absconded. Police has registered a case and sent the body for autopsy. Efforts were being made to arrest the accused.

As per the reports, Priyanka of Bhugaicha hamlet of Biwar police station area was having an affair with a local youth which was opposed by her father. Unable to meet her beau due to restrictions, the girl used to talk to her boyfriend on phone for hours.

On Tuesday night, while Priyanka was busy talking with her lover on phone, her father came into the room and started abusing her. He snatched her phone and when she objected her father took out a stick and battered her to death.
