CM launches online pension management system

State Government pensioners who have served the society during their entire lives deserve respect and attention from all, said Chief Minister Raman Singh on Wednesday. He was addressing a gathering after launching the Online portal 'Aabhaar-Aapki Sevahon Ka' (Gratitude-For Your Service) and MobileApp at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, auditorium, Raipur.

He further said that now transparent, accountable and quick service would be provided as the online system will help the pensioners to save time. They need not make several rounds of Government office. Around one lakh pensioners will benefit from it. Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh is racing against time in fulfilling the dreams of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making 'Digital India'-'Digital Chhattisgarh'.

Internet Connectivity is reaching the remote regions of the State. The pensioners' data base will be prepared through Online Pension Management System. The beneficiaries will be provided updates via SMSs regarding the status of their pension account.

In quick time, through online the grievances of pensioners also will be redressed. The recipients of pensions will also be informed via e-mail. Those employees who have retired before 1st January 2016 will get enhanced Basic Pension of 2.57 per cent which will entail an additional expenditure of Rs 500 crore on the State Government. The Gratuity of officers-employees had been hiked from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

Chief Minister felicitated retired officers-employees by providing them with Pension Payments' orders and shawls. He wished them a long and healthy life.

Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Sreechand Sundrani, Chief Secretary Ajay Singh and Finance Department Principal Secretary Amitabh Jain and several senior officials were present. Online Pension Management System launched today is like a thanksgiving facility by the State Government to them, he added.

Brijmohan Agrawal said that retired State Government officers-employees are great assets and their experience will hold the State in great benefit. Chhattisgarh is the first state to computerise all the State Government offices. Several retired persons, prominent citizens and senior officers were also present.

Treasury, accounts and pension Director Reeta Shandilya said that in future through this system general provident fund, leave encashment and group insurance scheme cases would also be resolved through online and payment would be released.
