CHENNAI: A three-day book exhibition at Anna University was inaugurated by the MK Surappa, university vice-chancellor, and S Ganesan, registrar on Wednesday. The exhibition boasts over one lakh titles by nearly 50 publishers.

The annual event is held to familiarise students, researchers and faculty members with new books and education resources available in the market. Students can find a wide range of technical books related to all fields of science and engineering in the exhibition. The books displayed are worth nearly `3 cr, said a senior official from the university.

“The most updated foreign author books can be found at the exhibition,” the official said adding that there are also books on methods to publish research papers with leading journals, skill development, technical networking and on many related subjects.

“The main purpose of organising such an exhibition is to primarily acquire and strengthen the existing collection of the university library with nascent books published,” said G Krishnamoorthy, librarian of the university. The exhibition will be on till Friday and is open to the public.
