More rains in store for State

 The low pressure over north Bay of Bengal, which had triggered heavy rains across the State, is likely to form over the same region again from July 19.

BHUBANESWAR: The low pressure over north Bay of Bengal, which had triggered heavy rains across the State, is likely to form over the same region again from July 19. The low pressure might develop into a well marked low pressure in next two to three days.India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday informed that under the impact of the low pressure light to moderate rainfall might occur at several places in North Odisha and at a few places in South Odisha on Thursday.

On July 20, rain might occur in coastal parts and interiors. “Rainfall activity will again increase across the State after July 19. A low pressure will likely develop into a well marked low pressure in between July 20 and 21,” Regional Meteorological Centre Director HR Biswas told The Express. 

The met office also issued a warning for the fishermen and have asked them to return to the coast by July 20. “The fishermen have been advised for not venturing into the sea in between July 20 and 22,” Biswas said.
