Nigeria Navy Chief arrives on 2-day visit

Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, the Nigerian Navy's Chief of Staff, arrived on a two-day visit to the  Southern Naval Command(SNC) here on Wednesday.

KOCHI: Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, the Nigerian Navy's Chief of Staff, arrived on a two-day visit to the  Southern Naval Command(SNC) here on Wednesday. The visit by Abuja's Navy Chief, who is accompanied by a four-member delegation, is expected to further firm up bilateral ties between the two friendly states.  The visiting dignitary discussed training-related issues and other topics of bilateral interest with SNC Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief(FOC-IN-C)  Vice Admiral A R Karve.

Earlier, Chief Staff Officer Rear Admiral K Swaminathan received the Nigerian Navy chief on his arrival at INS Garuda, the naval air station. Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete visited the Indian Naval Air Squadron 342 - the Navy's Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Squadron, the Water Survival Training Facility, Ship Handling Simulator and  Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini. He interacted with the Nigerian Navy personnel presently undergoing training here.
