Balangir villagers protest water scarcity

Several villagers, mostly women, of Sadeipali and nearby villagers held a protest under the leadership of BJD leader Arkesh Narayan Singh Deo before the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) Executive Engineer office here on Wednesday. The villagers alleged that in summer this year, the Balangir MP had inaugurated a water supply scheme for Sadeipali, Barkani, Mirdhapali, Madhiapali villages, but the scheme is not functioning properly depriving the residents of water supply benefit.

Later, they met the RWSS Balangir Executive Engineer and held a discussion about the problem.

Singh Deo said the Engineer has assured them to take necessary steps to ensure water supply to the villagers directly and to find a permanent solution as early as possible.
