Incentive of Rs 775 crore to be given to farmers for onion and garlic
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed the procurement of gram, lentil and mustard. At the same time, he took stock of registration for moong, urad and arrival of onion and garlic in mandis. He instructed to expedite process to make remaining payment to farmers. It was informed that payment of Rs 7842 crores has been made to farmers for gram, lentil and mustard. Incentives over Rs 775 crores will be given to farmers for onion and garlic.
While reviewing Rabi procurement here at Mantralayal today, the Chief Minister said that payment should be made to those farmers, who sold gram, lentils and mustard and could not get it. Also, distribution of incentive to the farmers should be ensured.
During this, it was informed that 100 percent payment for gram, lentil and mustard has been done in 17 districts to farmers. Only 16 percent payment is remaining. Incentive of Rs100 per quintal is being given by the state government on these crops.
It was informed that 91 thousand 268 and 22178 farmers have got registered for procurement of moong and Urad respectively. The arrive of Moong is 2.42 lakh metric ton and urad is 0.29 lakh metric tons.
Similarly, 1 lakh 43 thousand 426 farmers have brought 6 lakh 75 thousand 498 metric ton garlic and 63 thousand 651 farmers have brought 5 lakh 88 thousand 849 metric ton onions. Under Mukhyamantri Krishak Samridhi Yojana, Rs 235 crore will be at the rate of Rs 400 per quintal for onion and Rs 540 crore for garlic at the rate of Rs 800 per quintal.
In the meeting, Chief Secretary Shri BP Singh, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Shri PC Meena, Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary Civil Supply Smt Neelam Shamirao, Principal Secretary Co-operatives Shri KC Gupta and other officials were present.
