Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center (PARKVIEW) has selected AHMC Healthcare Inc. to acquire Parkview’s 193-bed acute care hospital in Riverside.

Under the agreement reached, current levels of hospital services will be preserved, including operation of the newly constructed emergency department, while assuring continued investment in infrastructure, technology, and enhancement of the scope of services.

Parkview and its representatives have engaged in a comprehensive and deliberate process to identify those organizations that would best meet the needs of the surrounding communities. “The Parkview decision was based on the buyer meeting a number of critical criteria,” said Steve Popkin, CEO, Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center. “These included a long-term commitment to partner with Parkview’s physicians and staff in providing quality acute care services to Riverside and the surrounding communities; offering round-the-clock emergency services; continuing to serve Medicare, Medi-Cal, Managed Care, and charity care patients; and having the ability to provide sufficient resources to continue the Mission and Vision of Parkview.”

AHMC Healthcare Inc., formed in 2004, is one of the largest regionally owned integrated health care systems in the nation and its affiliated hospitals are recognized leaders in providing value-based and wellness focused services to the community. AHMC Healthcare hospitals have a long track record of successfully and effectively operating safety net hospitals and serving the diverse health care needs of community residents.
